Overall Reflection Statement
For my competence in cultural engagement, I am submitting artifacts from my MarriageCore  experience that may serve as engagement guides for individuals not only of different faith backgrounds, but different ethnic and cultural backgrounds and are married, as was the case for me (from Michigan) and my wife (from Venezuela).

Learning Reflection
As I developed and demonstrated cultural engagement, I have learned how God is Creator and He is vastly creative and loves variety and all people are made in His image.  Every culture has strengths and weaknesses, areas where they align closer to God's truth than others and a goal and learning I continue to reflect on is how ethnocentric is my view of Christianity?  What negatives from other cultures do I see in Christians within those cultures?  What negatives within my own?  What positives? How much difference do these contribute to marital challenges and how much are they a cop out for sin, selfishness, and our own upbringing?

Lifelong Development Statement
As a result of the experiences documented by these artifacts, I will continue to develop in cultural engagement by learning to view cultures more neutral and help other Christians to learn what is Biblical versus what is simply North American or even Western and to understand and minister the truth that we are all made in the image of God and no matter our cultural or family of origin differences, our integration point is Scripture, the Word and Jesus Christ the Living Word and as He molds us to His own image, our oneness gets richer and richer with Him and with each other.
